BALTIMORE, 04-20-08---Journeyman jockey Jenny Stisted, who gave up riding after she married trainer Scott Lake and had two children, returned to action this afternoon for the first time in more than six years and won the eighth race at Pimlico Race Course aboard Baltimore Raven, who is trained by her husband and owned by Home Team Stables. It was just her second mount of the day for Team Lake.

“That was nice,” said Stisted, who will turn 39 in June. “When you are on the right horses you can’t go wrong. I thought if I could get my weight down why not come back. The first race (aboard Young and Fabulous in the sixth) I was more nervous about being fit but after that race I knew I was fine. So much comes back to you when those gates open. It is fun.”

Stisted and Baltimore Raven defeated seven other claiming maidens in the six furlong test over the muddy going. They broke alertly, pressed post time favorite Token Essence into the far turn and then pulled away to score by three and a half lengths in 1:13.68.  Baltimore Raven paid $17.80.

Before this afternoon Stisted’s last mount was aboard Bellwether for her husband at Laurel Park on January 9, 2002.
