BALTIMORE, MD. 05-03-08---Bad Boys Stable’s Dicey D J went about her business and won the $50,000 Hookedonthefeelin Stakes over eight 3-year-old Maryland-bred fillies on the turf at Pimlico.

The Kentucky Derby day crowd in attendance in Maryland, who witnessed presumptive Preakness favorite Big Brown win the Run For The Roses, totaled 16,438.

Away alertly under jockey Rosie Napravnik, Dicey D J pressed the lead along the rail, then took command and drew away to a three length score in 58.45 for the five furlong distance.  Kosmo’s Buddy rallied nearest the rail to take second and My Little Josie ran third.  Dicey D J paid $3.80.

Linda Rice trains Dicey D J, who was winning her first stakes after six lifetime starts.

“She broke sharp and I thought there would be a little more pace,” said Napravnik. “We sat there in a great spot on the rail and she was just the best horse in the race.”

Napravnik won last week’s feature, the Henry Clark Stakes aboard Stay Close.

Assistant-trainer Samantha Randazzo said, “Linda thinks her best distance is somewhere between five-eighths and a flat mile. She ran very well against the boys in Florida and when this race came up, because she is a Maryland-bred, we knew she would do well here.”
