CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: won seven of 10 races with Xtra Heat in 2002, including the Grade II Barbara Fritchie and four other graded races…rode the Eclipse Award winner in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint and a third place finish in the Golden Shaheen in Dubai…won 10 stakes races in his inaugural season in Maryland (2001), including five on top sprinter Disco Rico…the biggest win for that duo came on Preakness Day when they won the Grade 3 Maryland Breeders’ Cup…produced 200+ wins five times in his career, including a career-high 314 in 1989 when he was riding in New England… also broke the 200 win barrier in 1996 (205), 1999 (245), 2001 (203) and 2005 (222)…rode in Michigan and New York before moving to New England in the late 80’s…moved to Delaware in 2000 and settled full-time in Maryland from 2001-2003…first win at Hazel Park on October 11, 1983…reached 3,000 plateau aboard Quies at Philadelphia Park on September 13, 2005…regular rider in Philly from 2004-2008.
