Authors Carroll, Kelly and Rowe to Sign Books on Black-Eyed Susan Day

Kelly to Sign “Sir Barton and the Making of the Triple Crown”
Rowe to Sign “About My Mother”

BALTIMORE – Friday’s Black-Eyed Susan Day at Pimlico Race Course, featuring 14 races, assorted entertainment and fine dining – will also feature three authors meeting fans and signing their books about Thoroughbred racing and horses.

Jennifer Kelly will be signing copies of “Sir Barton: And Making of the Triple Crown,” as racing celebrates the 100th anniversary of Sir Barton becoming the first horse to win what would become known as the Triple Crown.
    
Peggy Rowe will be signing copies of “About My Mother” True Stories of a Horse-Crazy Daughter and Her Baseball-Obsessed Mother: A Memoir.” Rowe writes about growing up as the horse-crazy daughter of Thelma Knobel.
    
Linda Carroll writes about the Cinderella story of Stymie in “Out of the Clouds; an unwanted Thoroughbred who becomes one of the most popular horses of his time.

The authors will meet with fans and sign books inside Pimlico’s grandstand entrance between noon and 2 p.m.

First race post Friday is 11:30 p.m. Doors open at 9 a.m.
