BALTIMORE – Less than a month after venturing to the United States from his native Puerto Rico, 10-pound apprentice Jean Aguilar rode his first two domestic winners Friday at Laurel Park.

Aguilar, 18, scored with Taking Risks Stable and Louis Ulman’s 3-year-old gelding Malinois ($12.80) in Race 2 for trainer Phillip Capuano, and the John Robb-trained No Guts No Glory homebred mare Bandits Warrior ($6.40) in Race 4.

BALTIMORE – Poor weather conditions due to the ongoing winter storm in the Mid-Atlantic region has caused the Maryland Jockey Club to cancel Saturday’s 10-race program at Laurel Park.

Laurel, Pimlico Race Course, Rosecroft Raceway and the MJC OTB network will remain open Saturday for simulcasting.

Live racing is scheduled to resume Sunday at Laurel with a 12:25 p.m. first post.

Racing Resumes Saturday with Four Stakes

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club has cancelled Friday’s races at Laurel Park due to a winter storm that has dropped several inches of snow across Northern and Central Maryland.

Due to dangerous driving conditions simulcast wagering has also been cancelled today at Laurel and Pimlico Race Course.

Racing is scheduled to return Saturday with a 10-race program including four stakes highlighted by the $100,000 What A Summer and $100,000 Fire Plug. First race post is noon.
