MEDIA ADVISORY PREAKNESS CREDENTIALS

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club is accepting media credential requests for Preakness 148, to be held at Pimlico Race Course Saturday, May 20.

Credentials are provided to media members who represent professional news gathering organizations that produce and publish original content. Freelancers will not be granted credentials without a letter of support from an accredited medium.

MJC Cancels Live Racing Program Saturday at Laurel Park

No Racing Easter Sunday, Live Racing to Resume Thursday April 13

BALTIMORE –The Maryland Jockey Club cancelled Saturday’s live program out of an abundance of caution to do a full evaluation of the racing surfaces.

Live racing was not scheduled on Easter Sunday. Live racing will resume with an eight-race program Thursday, April 13, including the first race of the 2023 turf season.

Laurel Park remains open Saturday for full card simulcasting.

BALTIMORE – Wicked Prankster, front-running winner of the Maryland Million Turf last fall in his most recent start, will tune up for the upcoming grass season when he makes his 5-year-old debut Friday at Laurel Park.

The Maryland-bred Mosler gelding drew Post 3 in a field of eight for Race 6, a second-level optional claiming allowance for 3-year-olds and up sprinting seven furlongs. Regular rider Richard Monterrey has the call.
