BALTIMORE – Resolute Racing’s stakes winner Lucky Jeremy, Grade 3-placed while on the early Triple Crown trail, returns to the dirt for his first start in nearly three months in Saturday’s $100,000 City of Laurel at Laurel Park.

The 14th running of the City of Laurel for 3-year-olds and 34th renewal of the $100,000 Safely Kept for 3-year-old fillies, both sprinting seven furlongs, co-headline a nine-race Thanksgiving weekend program that begins at 12:25 p.m.

BALTIMORE – Laurel Park’s calendar year-ending fall meet resumes Thursday with the traditional Thanksgiving Day program featuring nine live races and its annual holiday buffet and pie giveaway.

Doors open at 10 a.m. with a first race post time of 11:25 a.m.

Weekend Racing Cancelled at Laurel Park

Main Track Undergoing Further Evaluation

BALTIMORE – With further evaluation of the racing surface ongoing, the Maryland Jockey Club has cancelled its remaining programs this weekend at Laurel Park.

Nine races were scheduled for Saturday including a trio of $100,000 stakes, and eight races were scheduled for Sunday at Laurel.

Laurel will remain open during its normal morning training hours for galloping and jogging.

Racing Scheduled to Return Saturday with Three Stakes

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club canceled Friday’s nine-race program at Laurel Park prior to the opener after speaking with jockeys who expressed concerns about riding over the main track.

Following the cancellation, track officials were in the process of further evaluating the racing surface.
