2010 SEASON: ranked third in the local standings with 17 first place finishes, all with trainer Chris Grove…Sweet Goodbye won three stakes races during the Laurel winter meet, reaching the wire first in the What A Summer Stakes, Grade II Barbara Fritchie Handicap and Conniver Stakes…won two races on Feb. 4 and Apr. 10.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS: Deer Run won two stakes races in 2002, including the Maryland Million Sprint, finished second in the Grade I De Francis Dash and represented Maryland in the Great State Challenge, finishing third in the sprint…owned prominent Maryland runners Wayne County and Cryptostar…ranked in the top 10 for three consecutive years (2002, 2003, 2004).

PERSONAL: noted breeder… bought his first horse in 1960, a broodmare…owns four farms totalling 3,000 acres in both Virginia and West Virginia…owns all Maryland sires, usually at Murmur Farm…had three shares in 2002 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner War Emblem’s sire, Our Emblem.
