Downtown Baltimore Facility Becomes Eighth Location to Reopen

Baltimore, MD – The Maryland Jockey Club announced today that its Horseshoe Casino off-track betting facility will reopen for business starting Monday, June 29 at 11:30 a.m.

Located at 1525 Russell St. in downtown Baltimore, less than a mile from both Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium, the Horseshoe Casino becomes the MJC’s eighth OTB location to reopen following their closure amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Friday's Stronach 5 Returns $4,165

Baltimore, MD – Despite victories by two heavy favorites in Liza Star and Plot the Dots, Friday’s Stronach 5 still rewarded bettors with winning tickets with a $4,165.20 payoff.

The national wager, with races from Laurel Park and Gulfstream Park, had a guaranteed pool of $100,000.

Baltimore, MD – Friday’s Stronach 5, featuring a $100,000 guaranteed pool and industry-low 12-percent takeout, had 17 winning tickets each worth a generous $7,039.80.

The sequence kicked off with Gulfstream’s eighth race and a $15.60 winner in Fujairah, the longest price of the Stronach 5, and ended with Santa Anita’s third race and 6-5 favorite Tiberius Mercurius holding off War Path for the victory.  Tiberius Mercurius was the shortest price of the day.

The Stronach 5 kicked off with Laurel’s eighth race, won by the Mike Trombetta-trained No More Lady ($15.80). Gulfstream’s 10th race, the second leg of the sequence, produced another price with the win of the Mark Casse-trained Meadow Beauty ($24.20).

Baltimore, MD – The Stronach 5, featuring races from Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park, Golden Gate Fields and Santa Anita Park, returned Friday with 71 winning tickets each worth $1,918.90.
 
The largest price in the sequence came in Laurel’s eighth race, the third leg of the sequence, when Outofthepark returned $15.60. The final two legs of the sequence from Golden Gate and Santa Anita were won by favorites.
