LAUREL, MD – The Maryland Jockey Club announced today a total of 38 stakes, 11 graded, worth $6.325 million in purses scheduled through mid-May 2020 at Laurel Park and Pimlico Race Course, highlighted by the 145th running of the $1.5 million Preakness Stakes (G1), the Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown, May 16.

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club announced today a “Win Today, See You in May” series of races from tracks across the country that will offer automatic entry into stakes on Preakness weekend 2020 at Pimlico Race Course.

Friday's Stronach 5 Features $91,081 Carryover

Industry-Low 12-Percent Takeout

LAUREL, MD – Friday’s Stronach 5, featuring races from Gulfstream Park, Laurel Park and Golden Gate Fields and an industry-low 12-percent takeout, will have a $91,081.85 carryover.

The Stronach 5 begins at 3:51 ET with a $33,000 starter optional claimer at Gulfstream for 2-year-old fillies on the turf. The sequence will conclude at 4:54 ET when it returns to the turf at Gulfstream with 3-year-olds and up going 1 1/16 miles.

LAUREL, MD – There will be a carryover of $91,081.85 in the Stronach 5 on Friday, Nov. 15.

There were no winners in Friday’s popular Stronach 5, which has an industry-low 12-percent takeout.

$100,000 Guaranteed Pool, Industry-Low 12-Percent Takeout

LAUREL, MD – The Stronach 5 returns Friday with a $100,000 guaranteed pool and races from Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields.

The sequence begins at 4:10 ET at Laurel Park with a field of 14 claimers going six furlongs and will conclude less than an hour later with a dozen 2-year-old maiden fillies going a mile on the turf at Gulfstream.

Laurel Park Cancels Friday Program

National Stronach 5 Wager Also Cancelled
Track to Remain Open for Simulcasting

LAUREL, MD – Ongoing work to fix a broken water pipe along the track apron has forced Laurel Park to cancel Friday’s live 10-race program.

Repairs to the pipe, located near the outer rail of the main track, took longer than expected and require an extra day to complete. Management is optimistic live racing will return with Saturday’s scheduled 10-race card.
