Preakness Pick 3 Wager To Include Graded Races On May 16-17 Cards

BALTIMORE, 05-07-14---The Maryland Jockey Club today announced it will be adding a Preakness Pick 3 wager next weekend, offering fans a chance to play the best stakes races at Pimlico Race Course.

The Preakness Pick 3 wager will include races over two days-the $300,000 Pimlico Special (G3) on Friday, May 16 and the $400,000 Dixie Stakes (G2) and $1.5 million Preakness Stakes (G1) on Saturday, May 17.

“This is an attractive bet,” Maryland Jockey Club president Tom Chuckas said. “It features three of our six graded races on Preakness weekend. We believe it will be appealing to players around the world.”

The wager has a 50-cent minimum with a takeout of 25.75%.

PIMLICO PICK4 GUARANTEES

•   Friday, May 16              Races 9-12                 $250,000 gross pool minimum

•  Saturday, May 17           Races 5-8                   $350,000 gross pool minimum

•  Saturday, May 17           Races 9-12                 $1.5 million gross pool minimum

Pimlico will continue with the Pimlico Special-Preakness Double, which combines Friday’s 12th race, the Pimlico Special, with Saturday’s race 12, the Preakness. This wager has a $1.00 minimum bet value with a takeout of 21%.

The Pimlico Jackpot Pick 5, currently with a $93,467 carryover, will be forced out on Preakness Day.
