Michael Behrens, MyRacehorse Named Preakness Honorary Postmaster

Presented May 15 During Preakness 150 Week at Pimlico Race Course

BALTIMORE – Michael Behrens and MyRacehorse, owners of 2024 Preakness (G1) winner Seize the Grey, have been named to the role of Honorary Postmaster for Preakness 150 Saturday, May 17 at Pimlico Race Course.

Behrens and MyRacehorse will be recognized Thursday, May 15 at the Alibi Breakfast at Pimlico.

Previous Honorary Postmasters have included Hall of Fame trainers D. Wayne Lukas, Nick Zito, and Bob Baffert; Hall of Fame jockey Edgar Prado; and Horse of the Year recipients Cigar and Knicks Go.

Tradition holds that the Alibi Breakfast’s humble beginnings go back to a few trainers sipping coffee on the porch of Pimlico’s old clubhouse in the late 1930s, extolling the virtues of their horses and offering up excuses – or alibis – should their horse lose.

Behrens is the Founder and CEO of MyRacehorse, the groundbreaking platform that brought fractional racehorse ownership to the masses. Under his leadership, MyRacehorse has opened the gates of the sport to over 100,000 fans worldwide. Prior to launching MyRacehorse, Behrens ran a successful digital marketing agency and served as Chief Marketing Officer at Casper.

“It is an incredible honor to be named Honorary Postmaster for Preakness 150,” Behrens said. “This race means the world to us. Winning it last year with over 2,000 MyRacehorse owners behind the horse was one of the most powerful moments in our journey. To be back here a year later in this role is truly special.”
