BALTIMORE – Following a cold winter and a moderate spring, jockey Feargal Lynch has been heating up as summer approaches, heading into the final two weeks of the Preakness Meet at Pimlico tied atop the rider standings.
 

Pimlico’s Closing Weekend Turf Stakes Draw 122 Nominations

Five Stakes for Maryland, Virginia-Breds Set for June 25
 
BALTIMORE – Five turf stakes at Pimlico worth $330,000 for horses bred in Maryland and Virginia have attracted 122 nominations.
 
The races, to be run Saturday, June 25, come on closing weekend of the 28-day Preakness Meet at Pimlico. The spring stand ends June 26 before racing shifts to Laurel Park for its summer meet starting Friday, July 1.
 

Prado Stays Busy on 49th Birthday

BALTIMORE - Hall of Fame rider Edgar Prado stayed active on his 49th birthday, riding two horses Sunday at Pimlico Race Course.
 
Prado moved his tack from Florida to Maryland in May. He's currently the fifth-leading rider at Pimlico, winning at a 22-percent clip and finishing in the money at a 44-percent clip. Prado dominated the Maryland circuit for a decade - winning 24 riding titles - before moving to New York in 1998.
 

Carrasco Wins 5 at Pimlico

Sets Course Record on Inside Out
 
BALTIMORE - Jockey Victor Carrasco had a memorable Saturday afternoon at Pimlico Race Course.
 
Not only did he win five of Pimlico's nine races, but he set a course record aboard Lael Stable's Inside Out in the eighth race.
 
Carrasco also won five races last October at Laurel Park.

BALTIMORE  - Pimlico's nine-race program Saturday will include a special post time, the simulcast of the 148th Belmont Stakes, and the popular Brew & Bourbon Classic.
 
Doors open at 11 a.m. at Pimlico and Laurel Park. Pimlico will have a special 12:45 p.m. first race post Saturday.
 

France's Le Geay Wins FEGENTRI Race at Pimlico

BALTIMORE - No Delay, a 30-1 longshot ridden by Lara Le Geay of France, drove past Counting Days inside the final sixteenth to win the FEGENTRI International Federation of Gentlemen & Lady Riders race Thursday at Pimlico.
 
No Delay returned $65.
 
For Le Geay, one of the top five riders in the FEGENTRI standings, it was her first mount in the U.S.

G1 Kentucky Derby Winner Returning to California Sunday
 
BALTIMORE – Previously undefeated Kentucky Derby (G1) and Florida Derby (G1) winner Nyquist spent his last morning on the main track at historic Pimlico Race Course with an energetic two-mile jog Saturday morning.
 
It was the third straight day of training for the 2015 champion 2-year-old male, who is scheduled to return to trainer Doug O’Neill’s base at Santa Anita Park Sunday morning.
