BALTIMORE – There were 25 winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5 with each returning $4,218.50.

The Stronach 5 featured races from Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields.

MJC Cancels Live Racing Through Weekend at Laurel Park

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club has announced that live racing has been cancelled Saturday and Sunday at Laurel Park due to inclement weather forecast for the weekend along with ongoing track maintenance.

Laurel, Pimlico, Rosecroft and the MJC OTB Network will remain open for simulcasting.

Live racing is scheduled to resume Friday, Jan. 14. Entries will be taken Tuesday, Jan. 11.

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club has canceled Friday’s live nine-race program at Laurel Park after a winter storm swept through the area overnight and into the morning.

As a result the national weekly Stronach 5 wager, which was scheduled to open with Laurel’s ninth race, has also been cancelled and will return Friday, Jan. 14.

Laurel, Pimlico, Rosecroft and the MJC OTB Network remain open for simulcasting.

BALTIMORE – In approximately one hour, Friday’s Stronach 5 will feature races from Laurel Park, Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields, a low 12-percent takeout, full fields, and two turf races.

BALTIMORE – The Maryland Jockey Club has canceled Thursday’s nine-race program at Laurel Park because of the lingering effects of a winter storm earlier in the week that brought rounds of sleet, freezing rain and snowfall to the area.

Laurel, Pimlico, Rosecroft and the MJC OTB Network remain open for simulcasting.

Live racing is set to resume Friday with a nine-race program with first race post of 12:25 p.m.

BALTIMORE – There were two winning tickets in Friday’s Stronach 5, each worth $43,647.40.

The popular wager featured races from Laurel Park, Gulfstream Park, Santa Anita Park and Golden Gate Fields as well as a low 12-percent takeout.

The Stronach 5 began with longshot Up Against It winning Laurel’s eighth race and returning $61.20.
