BALTIMORE, 05-02-14---Gary Stevens, who last year became the oldest rider to win the Preakness Stakes (G1), has informed Pimlico officials that he will not participate in the Xpressbet Jockey Challenge on Black-Eyed Susan Day, May 16.
BALTIMORE, 05-01-14---The four races scheduled to be run on the grass this afternoon at Pimlico Race Course were taken off the turf after Wednesday’s deluge brought 5.82 inches of rain to the central Maryland track, according to turf superintendent Robbie Mitten. BALTIMORE, 04-26-14---Trainer Chris Grove won the $75,000 Geisha Stakes for the fifth time, this time with Lewis Family Racing Stable’s Celtic Katie, who beat Maryland-bred filly and mares this afternoon at Pimlico Race Course.
ALTIMORE, 04-25-14---Alex Solis, who guided Snow Chief to victory in the 1986 Preakness Stakes (G1) was elected into The National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame earlier this afternoon. The 50-year-old was also added to the lineup for the Hall of Fame Jockey Challenge on Black-Eyed Susan Day at Pimlico Race Course.
